About Professor Spewock
As an educator within a unique and creative field of study, I strive to continuously integrate course lessons, assignments, and projects with relevant industry expectations in a constantly evolving atmosphere. The past two years year have provided many challenges within higher education. As an interior design educator, it is my responsibility to stay informed of industry and professional standards to provide balance between learning outcomes and the evolving learning styles of the interior design student.
Pandemic and post-pandemic issues within the built environment continue to inform a new social expectation for public architecture and interior design. The implications of COVID-19 will require designers to rethink their approaches to design problems. The students now are part of the generation of designers that experienced the pandemic firsthand. One of my goals is to encourage them to use these evidence-based experiences for innovative design solutions.
